Why is regular giving important for King's College Hospital Charity?

Our regular monthly givers are a key source of unrestricted income for the charity. Unrestricted income is, as the name would suggest, donations that we have not been asked to dedicate or 'restrict' to a certain cause. Our unrestricted income is vital to our work as it allows us to make an impact where it is needed most and allows us to help if something is needed as a matter of urgency.

Our generous donations from our monthly supporters have enabled us to fund a variety of impactful projects both big and small across all of our hospital sites.

CCU garden

King's Critical Care Roof Garden

We're proud to have funded a pioneering Critical Care Roof Garden at King's College Hospital. It will be fully medically equipped, so that patients in critical care can be taken there in their beds and enjoy fresh air and greenery in this tranquil and calming space.
Neonatal team

VCreate: a video messaging app for parents of Neonates

The app allows staff in neonatal teams to send photos and updates about premature babies straight into their parents' phones. This can help reduce anxiety for parents during periods of separation, help them feel closer to their babies and involved in their care.
Trust staff at the surgical robot

The Da Vinci Surgical Robot

The robot, which has been used over 1,000 operations, has improved recovery times, made surgical procedures less invasive and given King's the ability to treat more patients.
Pediatric Dentistry Sensory Room

Pediatric Dentistry Sensory Room

For children with learning disabilities, autism, or ADHD, the sights and sounds of a busy hospital waiting area can often be distressing and lead to heightened anxiety. The Pediatric Dentistry Sensory Room offers a safe and quiet place where children can regain calm and feel more at ease before their appointments.

Give monthly and make a lasting difference

Signing up to a regular gift means you're helping us further improve patient care across all our hospitals by giving:

  • £20 a month for a year could buy 20 welcome packs for homeless patients moving into temporary accommodation after being discharged from hospital. They include items such as towels, bedding, pans, crockery, toilet paper, shampoo, kettle, toiletries and a DAB radio.
  • £10 a month for a year could buy camp beds to allow family members to stay by the sides of their loved ones during the difficult nights in the hospital.
  • £5 a month for a year could buy books for bereaved parents and siblings dealing with the loss of a baby.

Michael Ramsay

Meet Michael

In 2012, Michael's life depended on a liver transplant. He was admitted to King's College Hospital, where he spent ten days receiving specialist care that ultimately saved his life.

Each year we run a face-to-face fundraising campaign, with fundraisers working across London and the South-East. They will be in local communities asking people to sign up for a monthly gift. If you would like to see where our fundraisers are working, or to check the legitimacy of someone you've spoken to, please go here for more information.
