Why Leave a Gift in Your Will?
By leaving King’s College Hospital Charity a gift in your Will, you will become part of a community of generous donors supporting King’s in an extraordinary way.
Leaving a gift in your Will is a personal decision, and some of our legacy community wish to honour particular King’s hospitals or specific medical areas that are important to them.
We are happy to honour those requests, but encourage supporters to leave any gifts to be used where the need is greatest to ensure the best possible impact for patients and families at that time. More information can be found in our legacy brochure.

Comprehensive wellbeing support for NHS staff
From refurbishing staff rooms to providing mental health support, donations to the charity help us to support staff by providing the best possible working environment.
Including a gift in your Will to King’s College Hospital Charity is easier than you might think – just follow these steps:
Step One – Make a note of our charity details
You will need our full name and details to ensure the gift reaches us safely. These are:
Name: King’s College Hospital Charity
Charity registered in England and Wales, registration no: 1165593
Registered Office: King’s College Hospital Charity, 245A Coldharbour Lane, London, SW9 8RR
Step Two – Decide what type of gift you want to include
There are two main ways to include a gift:
A residuary gift is a percentage or share of your estate once all other payments and gifts have been made.
A pecuniary gift is a fixed amount of money.
Step Three – Consider Inheritance Tax
Anything you include to charity is free of Inheritance Tax. By including 10% or more of your estate to charity you can reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax you pay and support a cause close to your heart.
Step Four – Create or adjust your Will
Once you've got this far, it's time to speak with a solicitor to have your Will drawn up or adjusted. If you don't have a solicitor, you can find one in your area by contacting the Law Society.
Alternatively, you can use our Free Will-writing service and create a simple Will online for free, quickly and easily.
Your legacy journey
Much like your connection to King’s hospitals, your journey towards leaving us a gift in your Will is deeply personal. Behind every legacy is a story - whether it’s to honour the care a loved one received, to express gratitude for your own treatment, or simply to support your local hospital for generations to come."
For some, that story is deeply rooted in life-changing care:

You are not obligated to inform us of your decision to leave a gift in your Will. However, supporters like Barbara have been telling us what inspired them to include King’s College Hospital Charity in their Wills – and these stories are, in turn, a real inspiration to us.
Whether you are planning to leave us a legacy gift, or have already included King’s College Hospital Charity in your Will, we would love for you to let us know so that we can thank you personally, listen to your story, and be there to help you with any next steps.
