Running for Children with Cancer

Euan is running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, 7 April 2024 in honour of his son. Racing to the top of the leaderboard, he's already raised an astonishing £6,507 for the King's Children's Oncology Ward.

While Euan may not have completed the London Landmarks Marathon yet, he's already a winner in our eyes.

At just 4-years old, Euan's son was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He was treated with 4 rounds of chemotherapy throughout 2022 and spent almost 7 months in King's and Great Ormond Street Hospital, including 8 days in intensive care. But he survived, and finally achieved remission in September 2022.

Sadly, he relapsed in May last year, just 2 days before his 6th birthday. In July he started a bone marrow transplant, again in Great Ormond Street, and after another 4 long months in hospital, he is currently in isolation at home, recovering slowly.

It has been a brutal experience for him, and for his sister, and for us, but we have our fingers crossed for the future. The quality of care he has received has been truly amazing, and we feel very lucky to have these two world-class research hospitals available to us and directing his treatment.
Euan

Euan has decided to run not one, but TWO half-marathons this year...one in April for the King's College Hospital Children's Oncology Ward, and then another in October for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Cancer Centre.

We're rooting for you, Euan!
