
Paul is running in memory of his friend and fellow ultrarunner Mark Thornberry, a fundraising hero himself, who raised over £100,000 for King’s College Hospital Charity to fund clinical research. Mark sadly passed away in June 2020 after a 3-year long battle with liver cancer, but Paul’s determined to keep his legacy alive by completing ‘Project 565 Miles’.
Paul’s journey started yesterday in London’s Little Venice, and he’ll be reaching Birmingham today, beginning the return leg tomorrow. He has two more gruelling runs planned later in the year, to reach his goal of running 565 miles in 2020.
