Project 565 Miles to help beat cancer

This weekend we’re cheering for Paul Mason, who’s running 290 miles - from London to Birmingham (and back again!) - to raise awareness and funds for research into hepatocellular carcinoma, a rare form of liver cancer

Paul is running in memory of his friend and fellow ultrarunner Mark Thornberry, a fundraising hero himself, who raised over £100,000 for King’s College Hospital Charity to fund clinical research. Mark sadly passed away in June 2020 after a 3-year long battle with liver cancer, but Paul’s determined to keep his legacy alive by completing ‘Project 565 Miles’.

Paul’s journey started yesterday in London’s Little Venice, and he’ll be reaching Birmingham today, beginning the return leg tomorrow. He has two more gruelling runs planned later in the year, to reach his goal of running 565 miles in 2020.

We’re humbled by Paul’s efforts to raise money for King’s. Let’s cheer him on as he makes his way to the finish line this Sunday! You can read more about Paul and Mark’s stories, and donate at the link below:
