Local student supports Hospital Heroes with inspirational speech

Bickley Park School student, Aaryan, aged 12, has donated $2500 to our Hospital Heroes Appeal after delivering an inspirational speech to empower front line NHS staff.

After entering into the International Churchill Society Competition, Aaryan was awarded second place from over 600 entries.

Aaryan with Ms Jennie Churchill (Churchill's great-granddaughter) and Mr Laurence Geller (Chairman of the International Churchill Society)

“This started with the finals of my school, Bickley Park’s public speaking competition for which I researched Mr Churchill for my speech about someone who greatly inspires me. After all the work I had put in for the school’s competition, I found I could quite easily create a speech about our fight against COVID-19 in the spirit of Mr. Churchill . To my surprise and delight I won $2500 dollars to donate to the PRUH hospital, who took such good care of my grandfather through-out the pandemic."

Aaryan's grandfather has been cared for many years at the Princess Royal University Hospital and spent time as an inpatient during COVID-19. Aaryan has nobly chosen to donate his $2500 prize to our Hospital Heroes Appeal, which is supporting the NHS staff, patients and families impacted by COVID-19.

Congratulations to Aaryan for an incredible achievement.
