The Great Hospital Hike 2024 - Stanley's Story

Stanley walked the Hike for the fourth time to thank King's for his amazing care.

Stanley took part in this year's Great Hospital Hike as way of saying thanking you for the care he has received at Princess Royal University Hospital.

In September 2016, Stanley had a life-changing operation at the PRUH. Unfortunately, last year he had a kidney stone blockage and underwent two more procedures at the PRUH.

This year, Stanley walked the Hike with his friend Roy, who he has known for over 50 years. Roy had some urgent gallbladder removal surgery last year also at the PRUH and both Stanley and Roy wanted to hike as a thank you for the fantastic care they both received at King's.

Stanley is still under the care of the PRUH to this day and is full of praise for what he describes as a "Wonderful hospital."

The Great Hospital Hike is always a very inspirational day for Stanley. He has walked all four Hikes so far and has meet some very brave and inspirational people on all of them.
