Sophie's story

Healthcare Play Specialist, Sophie Roffe, goes above and beyond to ensure the Children’s Ward at the Princess Royal University Hospital is a happier place to be.

Recently, Sophie brought her Dad in on the weekend to help build shelving units for the toys and games in the Play Room. She also faced her fear of heights and spent hours up a ladder decorating each room on the ward with brightly coloured decals.

But perhaps Sophie’s masterpiece is the Worry Wall, a quiet space where woodland fairies will listen to your worries and use their magic to take them all away.

“I created it for the children, but sometimes parents will rest their palm on the worry wall too while their child is in surgery”.

It’s little things like this that can make all the difference to children in hospital, and they’re only made possible through charitable funding.

That's why together with her team, PRUHkids, Sophie is taking on the Great Hospital Hike to help raise vital funds for the Children’s Ward.⠀
