Dan and Jordan's story

Dan Howe and his colleague Jordan Farquar took on their first-ever full marathon to raise funds for King’s College Hospital Charity.

As members of the therapy team at King’s College Hospital, Dan and Jordan work with vulnerable adults in A&E, the acute medical units and the frailty assessment unit.

A physiotherapist and occupational therapist respectively, both Dan and Jordan support older adults to get home safely from hospital, ensuring they have access to the rehabilitation, equipment and care support they need.

“We’ve spent our careers encouraging people to get up and moving,” says Dan, “so we thought we had better practice what we preach!”

The pair first ran together in last year’s Hackney Half Marathon - they must have enjoyed it because they chose to double the distance to take on their first full marathon, determined to raise as much as they can for King’s College Hospital Charity.

“At King’s, world-leading academics, researchers and clinicians work to treat and solve some of the biggest health challenges facing humanity. Every donation to the Charity helps fund lifesaving equipment, lifechanging research and better facilities – above and beyond what the NHS can provide."

Dan and Jordan raised a marvellous £1,210 to help make the best care possible at King's.
