The Great Hospital Hike is bigger, better and back in 2022!
Step up to the challenge and join us for a truly unforgettable day. Help raise vital funds for our hospitals and walk the 18 scenic miles from King’s College Hospital in Denmark Hill to the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley. Or, join us for the home stretch – the fun-filled Little Hospital Hike is only 3 miles long and ideal for children and four-legged friends! You could even participate virtually from anywhere in the world – just choose an 18-mile or 3-mile route that suits you.
The Great Hospital Hike is a fun sponsored walk and a rewarding way to raise money for our hospitals. It costs just £15 to register (£5 for NHS staff) and your sponsorship (minimum £150) will help fund projects that transform clinical services, advance research and improve the hospital environment for all.
From the moment you sign up, we will be on hand with ideas and advice, as well as provide materials to help promote your fundraising activities. Every penny you raise will make a world of difference to improving patient care and we will be with you every step of the way.
There are three routes you can choose from:
The Great Hospital Hike: a scenic 18-mile trail
Ramble at your own pace through parks and forests and discover the hidden gems tucked away in our urban landscape. Highlights include the Sunken Gardens at the Horniman Museum, the tranquil ponds in Sydenham Wells Park and the ancient oaks in Stumpshill Wood.
The Little Hospital Hike: a 3-mile family-friendly route
Join the walkers at the pit stop in Hayes and follow the scenic off-road footpaths and forest trails through Mazzards Wood, Padmall Wood and Farnborough countryside to the finish line near the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley.
The Virtual Hospital Hike: choose your own route
It does not matter where you are in the world, you can take part in the Great Hospital Hike virtually and walk any 18-mile or 3-mile route of your choice
“Fantastic event, so well organised. It was a really lovely walking route through London off the main roads and exploring many interesting parks and parts of London and Kent. Don’t think about it, just DO IT!”
