Give through shares

Donating your shares to support our work is simple and tax effective. The benefits of donating shares:

  • You can claim full income tax relief on the value of your shares.
  • No capital gains tax will apply, so you can maximise your donation at no extra cost.
  • If you pay income tax at 40% or 45%, you'll be able to claim income tax relief equal to 40% or 45% of the value of your gift, depending on which rate of tax you pay.

If you would like to make a donation, you can donate shares to ShareGift and mention King’s College Hospital Charity. ShareGift is a charity specialising in accepting smaller share donations and can be contacted on 020 7930 3737 or through the ShareGift website. ShareGift will accept nil value shares as long as they are transferrable.
